The core team currently implementing Overlay Media's vision for mobile is led by Ian Anderson, the Chief Executive Officer. Ian is the founder of Overlay Media and has led the vision for Overlay Media's core services. Ian combines a creative talent with a keen eye for enabling lucrative business opportunities within the mobile space. Ian completed his PhD in mobile computing at the University of Bristol.
The technical arm of Overlay Media is led by Dr. Michael McCarthy a PhD graduate from the University of Bristol's Mobile and Wearable Computing research group. Michael published numerous technical papers in journals and at international conferences. He completed his PhD in the field of ultrasonic positioning technologies in April 2007 before joining Overlay Media in November 2007.
Tom joined Overlay Media in 2010 after graduating from the University
of the West of England with a degree in Business Studies. Since
joining the company as a User Researcher, Tom has developed his skills
and transitioned into a Business Development role. In this capacity he
works to develop partnerships with other organisations, and in
particular using the Context Engine in disparate sectors.
An English graduate from the University of the West of England,
Cath's approach to technology has always been that of a user
without any technical understanding. As a social media addict, she
keeps the team in touch with current trending topics while maintaining
Overlay Media's public profile. Her role extends to bringing a
fresh perspective - ensuring that projects don't just
appeal to the average, male user.
